Mrs. Mina Throop, aged 65, of Ravenna was called home to her Lord Monday afternoon May 14, 2007. Mina was born October 27, 1941 in Ionia, MI to Floyd and Mary Zuidema. She attended Coopersville Schools where she met Clark Throop. They married November 21, 1961. Clark and Mina became part of the family business Throop Funeral Home's Inc. In 1964 they built and moved to Ravenna and opened a branch of Throop Funeral Homes in Ravenna until 2006 when they turned over ownership of the Ravenna location to William Funk of Ludington. Mina was preceded in death by her son Phillip. She is survived by her husband, Clark Throop; children, Kenneth and Nancy Throop of Coopersville, Diane and Mark Jacobs of Ravenna; grandchildren, Jennifer, Marianne, Kendra and Phillip Throop all of Coopersville, Lindsey, Amber and Macey Jacobs all of Ravenna; sister, Eloise and James Brower of Byron Center; brother, Edward Zuidema and special friend Sally of Hobe Sound FL; sister-in-law Karen and Robert Lemmen of Coopersville, brother-in-law LeRoy and Barb Throop of Coopersville; step-mother-in-law Bernice Throop of Coopersville, many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Thursday 11:00 am at First Reformed Church of Ravenna, 3327 Mortimer Rd, Rev. Kevin Schutt and Rev. Don VanSlyke officiating. Interment Ravenna Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Reformed Church of Ravenna, or Beechnau-Theime Memorial Fund of Ravenna appreciated.
