Mildred L. (Millie) Counselor COUNSELOR, MRS. MILDRED L. (MILLIE) (Widow of Lyman) Muskegon Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Counselor, age 83, died Saturday morning, January 28, 2006. She was born August 25, 1922 in Crowder, MO to Ray and Maude Wisdom, and had been a resident of Muskegon since 1948. During that time, she worked at Grossman's Department Store, Luhman Floral Shop, and was active in many volunteer school programs including Band Parents, Parent Teachers Association, and school lunch programs. On November 6, 1941 she married Lyman E. Counselor and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1988. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Gary (Rebecca) Counselor of Muskegon, MI; 3 sisters, Pauline Sundberg of IL, Murdean (Cindy) Warbington of MO, Janet (Eugene) Hency of MO; 1 brother, Ray (Stella) Wisdom of IL; 3 grandchildren, Scott Counselor, Steven (Sue Howe and children Jeff, Joey, Tasha, Heather) Counselor, Susan (Joel) Erndteman, all of Muskegon, MI; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob Counselor, Lauren and Christopher Erndteman, James Counselor; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Hazel Duff and Fanny Smith. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Onchuck; 6 brothers-in-law, Layton Counselor, Ward Warbington, Herbert Sundberg, Edward Onchuck, Malcolm Hoos, and Oscar Tubbs; and 2 sisters-in-law, Lolyta Hoos and Ruth Tubbs. SERVICES will be 4 PM Tuesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Ben Jansen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 3-4 PM Tuesday. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
