BURGHORN, MRS. MIDGE Grand Haven MICHIGANS FIRST FEMALE BRIDGE TENDER Mrs. Midge Burghorn, age 64, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at her home. She was born in Muskegon on December 26, 1940 to Bruce & Dorothy Hogan McMillan. Mrs. Burghorn had been the Chief Bridge Tender in Grand Haven until 2001. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, crossword puzzles and her grandchildren. SURVIVORS Son, Ron Joy Campfield;daughter, Linda Kevin Nise both of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren, Melissa & Jeremy Nise, Caleb Karlsons and Nick Campfield; 3 sisters, Betty Don Ackerberg of N. Muskegon and Darlene and Sherrie Loss both of Fruitport; a brother, Loyd Loss of Zeeland; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burghorn was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Robert Loss and sister, Roberta Dempsey. SERVICE Saturday, March 19, 2005, 2:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Baerwolf officiating. Interment at Lakeshore Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 7-9 PM and Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. MEMORIAL: Ottawa Shores Humane Society.
