Michael A. Wright, age 53, passed away on June 25, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born on December 3, 1953 in Muskegon, Michigan to Harry and Theresa (Campagna) Wright. On July 7, 2000 he married the former Julie Blamer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Survivors include his wife Julie, and her children, Christopher (Amber), Matthew (Ashley Anderson), and Samantha (Westbrook Shawboose) Hilton; six grandchildren whom he adored, Bailey, MaKenzy, Lexus, Dayton Hilton, and Westbrook Shawboose and one 'on the way' to be named in October of 2007. He is also survived by his mother, Theresa Wright; a brother Larry (Judy) Wright; his sisters, including his twin sister, Margaret (Dan) Pearce, Rene (Tom) Vandenbosch, Rebecca Wright; sisters-in-law Cindy (Dan Jandron) and Linde (Dan) Iams, along with a very special uncle and friend Tony Campagna , and his mother and father in law, David and Gloria Blamer, and several nieces and nephews. Rhino was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Mark and John. Michael graduated in 1972 from Mona Shores High School and then joined the United States Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. After the service he became a journeyman electrician with the Local 275 until illness forced his retirement in 2000. He then worked many years at Town Tavern where he had many friends. During his younger years Rhino enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and later he loved to golf. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 12 noon, with Pastor Richard Mead officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Rhinos life in paradise, at 2:00 p.m. at MIBAR 2389 W. Sherman, all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to help with medical expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
