Michael Gale Short

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael Gale Short, who left us on October 10, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Odessa, Missouri, on December 10, 1952, Michael was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. Michael resided in Tennessee, where he enjoyed fishing with friends before moving home more recently to be surrounded by his family.

Michael adored his family and was especially close with his sisters, Pamela Norton and Paula Workman, and his brother, Clifford Short. He always had a funny story or a wisecrack to share that would light up any room. Michael's laughter and love will be tremendously missed by his siblings, brother-in-law Homer Norton, sister-in-law Susan Short, and brother-in-law John Workman along with his 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 7 great nieces, 6 great nephews and 5 great-great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford Alvin Short and Leona Fae Short, as well as two sisters Sandra Fae and Barbara Jo Short.
