Michael Dennis Rupp ("Mike"), born 10/10/86 in Joliet IL, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Mike loved his people deeply and was a caretaker by nature. While he worked in Home Health on several occasions, he took time off to instead care for loved ones including his Uncle Cris and his dad Brian.
He loved children and animals and they loved him; he had plans to transition from Home Health Care to working with young people. He was an extreme sports fan and commissioner of several fantasy sports leagues. He played Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, swimming, Bowling and tried golf but swung the club as if it were a bat. Many of his close friends he has known since playing youth sports, some since his championship T-ball season... where they would still get together and argue about plays from a game that took place 25 years ago.
His memory was unbelievable, and he often boasted he was full of "useless" information, and this was certainly true especially regarding movies, TV, and all things sports and music, which made him a great trivia partner. He loved music, particularly Chili Peppers and Taylor Swift of which he knew the lyrics to every one of their songs and could be heard singing loudly when the mood struck him. We all appreciated Mike's sense of humor, and he could make us laugh even in difficult times.
Michael was a graduate of Romeoville High School in Illinois and went to University of South Florida later transferring to Purdue University where he earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.
He loved and was loved by his mom and dad, Brian and Julia Rupp; his grandmother, Rae Rupp-Srch of Villa Park, IL; his cousins, Sam Aldrich, Dunedin FL and Tom (Taylar) Aldrich of Ankeny IA; his best friend, Patrick Bovyn Chicago IL; his uncles, Ben Featheringill (James Roy) of Seattle; and his uncle, John Featheringill of Illinois, his doxies Pete and Zoey and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jacob Rupp, Aunt Janell and Uncle Cris Aldrich and Grandma and Grandpa Myrt (Ed) Featheringill, and Grandpa Richard Srch.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Clock Funeral Home, on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A memorial service in Illinois will be held at a later date. You can celebrate Michaels life by donating to Three Oaks Charter School music program. We will also be installing a park bench in his memory.
