Michael C. Peterson

Mr. Michael C. Peterson, age 69, died in the first hour of Thursday, February 28, 2019. He was born in Muskegon on July 18, 1949, the youngest son of William A. and Mary (Prescott) Peterson, both of whom preceded him in death. Michael's eldest brother, Jeffrey A. Peterson (Jill) of Aurora CO, also preceded him in passing. Michael was a proud graduate of North Muskegon High School and attended Ferris State University. An avid sailor, Michael worked beside his father for the Peterson Sign Company creating and installing all manner of signage and decorative lighting for many Michigan based businesses. He enjoyed sailing, motorcycles, golf, snow skiing, backpacking and camping. SURVIVORS Mike is survived by his two sons; Christopher M. (Julia Mosemann) Peterson of Lititz PA and Matthew C. (Ramona Itule) Peterson of Berkeley CA, his former wife, Susan (Harris) Gawera of Tucson AZ and his older brother Stephen W. (Linda) Peterson of Grand Blanc MI. Mike is also survived and fondly remembered by his nephews; Tyler Peterson of Cottonwood Heights UT and Ryan Peterson of Aurora CO, his niece and grandniece, Nicole Peterson and Noelle Elzinga of Norton Shores MI.
