Mervau, Mildred M.

Mildred M. Mervau, age 98, passed away early Monday morning, December 18, 2006 in Muskegon. She was born July 13, 1908 to Hiram and Johanna (Snell) Horton in Muskegon, and lived in Grand Haven and Muskegon for most of her life. Mildred worked as an accountant for the Grand Haven Treasurer's office, and was a member of the Viking Lodge. She married Leslie A.J. Mervau on September 12, 1928, and he preceded her in death in 1980. SURVIVORS include 1 sister, Doris-Jane Horton of Muskegon; 2 nephews, Westley (Elizabeth) Horton, David (Cheryl) Horton; several great nephews, nieces and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Westley Horton, and a sister, Ina Lucille Horton. SERVICES will be 10:30 AM Thursday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with Rev. Vincent Lavieri officiating. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION at the funeral home will be 6-8 PM Wednesday.
