Mr. Merle J. "Bud" Eichmann, age 88, died Thursday, July 31, 2008. He was born on August 15, 1919 in Lake Zurich, IL and moved to Muskegon in 1921. He was a WW2 Air Force Veteran and retired as a Lt. Colonel from the 9635th Air Force Squadron (Reserve) in 1970 of which he was the Commanding Officer. He married the former Ann Peliotes Saines on March 27, 1970 in El Dorado, KS, who proceeded him in death on March 11, 2006. Bud worked at Clarke Floor Machine Company for 37 years and retired in 1982. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a life member of the Reserve Officers Association and of the Muskegon Yacht Club. He was also a member of the Lovell Moore Masonic Lodge #182 where he took his first degree in 1941, the Eastern Star Genesis Chapter #88, the Scottish Rite, and the Saladin Shrine Organization. He served on the board of Bunker School Alumni Association and the Class of 1938 from Muskegon High School. Bud also volunteered at The Red Cross - Muskegon Chapter and was one of the original ushers for Muskegon Summer Celebration. SURVIVORS He is survived by 2 sons, William Blaine Beauchene & Dan Charles Beauchene, both of Summerville, SC; daughter, Vicki (John) Weaver of Whitehall, MI; 2 step-children, Nicoletta Jones of Garland, TX, George Saines of Muskegon, MI; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; twin sister, Pearl Schwab of Summerville, SC; niece, Joan Schwab of Summerville, SC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Glennwood Eichmann of Glidden, WI in 1992. MEMORIAL SERVICE Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 12:00 Noon at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Dr. Thomas Scott officiating. VISITATION One hour prior to the service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
