Melvin Sutton SUTTON, MELVIN Zephyrhills, FL Formerly of Shelby, MI Melvin Warren Sutton, 70, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at his home in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Ludington, son of the late Gilbert Levi and Lela Jane (Acker) Sutton. He married Joanna O'Brien on Dec. 31, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo. She died Nov. 24, 1993. Mel was employed by Howmet Turbine Components Corp. in Whitehall for 36 years. Survivors include: sons, Michael and wife Kathy of Whitehall, Brian and wife Chris of Plainwell and John of Shelby and friend Chris Brown of Muskegon; daughter, Sandra of Midland; grandchildren, Stephanie, Derrick, Nicholas, Alexandria, Tell and Jakob; sisters, Ruth Califf and husband Melvin in Zephyrhills and Arlene Cichun and husband Basil in Muskegon; nephew, Ron Califf and wife Haekyong of Spring Lake; niece, Judy Ketner of Muskegon; and great-nephew, David Jewell. Mel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Doris Elmurna Ketchum; nephew, Stephen Cichun; and great-niece, Lela Johnson. Arrangements are in the care of Harris Funeral Home in Shelby. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shelby
