HOWARD, MR. MELVIN G. Muskegon Mr. Melvin G. Howard, age 72, died Friday, February 15, 2008. He was born in Muskegon on September 28, 1935 to George & Mary (Wright) Howard and married the former Janet Wells Malone on February 2, 1973. Mr. Howard had served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as a Welder at Neway Equipment and was a member of Unity United Methodist Church. SURVIVORS Wife, Janet; 3 sons, Walter (Anna) Howard of Big Rapids, Robert (Lisa) Howard of Grand Haven, Joey (Laura) Howard of Muskegon; daughter, Melanie (Dwayne)Hekkema of Twin Lake; 7 grandchildren; stepsister, Shirley (Larry) Hekkema of TN; stepmother, Goldie Howard of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edith; stepbrother, Robert McIntire. SERVICE Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 1:00 PM at Unity United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Besemer officiating.
