Melvin Califf

Mr. Melvin A. Califf, age 82, died Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was born in Muskegon, MI on June 7, 1927 to Leslie & Mabel (Spencer) Califf and married the former Ruth Sutton on July 5, 1952. Mr. Califf had been employed as a Machinist at Gardner-Denver for 27 years until retiring to Zepher Hills, FL in 1989. He and Ruth would return to Muskegon in October 2009 to reside. He enjoyed time with his family, the Tri-Cities Kids League, fishing, camping, and metal detecting. He will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS Wife of 57 years, Ruth; son, Ronald (Minjae) Califf; daughter, Judy Ketner; grandchildren, David Johnson, Jeffry Johnson; brother, Louis (JoAnn) Califf; sister-in-law, Eleanore Califf; many nieces & nephews; special friends, Molly & Katie, his cats. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lela Johnson; sister, Evelyn; brothers, Herbert, Robert & Charles. SERVICE Per the families wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
