Stressman, Melody Kay Muskegon, Michigan Melody Kay Stressman, age 72, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021. She was born in Muskegon, MI on February 21, 1949 to Issac & June (Perry) VanderJagt and married Donald J. Stressman on June 5, 1971. Melody had been employed as a Mail Carrier for US Post Office for 25 years until retiring, and just received her union 35 year pin from the NALC chapter 13. She was a lifelong member of Word of Hope Reformed Church in Fruitport and involved for many years with DeColores EnCristo. Melody was very friendly and outgoing and could talk to anyone. She liked quilting, flowers, photography and was a true lover of Nature. Melody liked spending time at their cabin on Drummond Island and also liked studying history about Michigan and out west. SURVIVORS Husband, Donald Stressman; 2 sons, Jason (Michele Gallagher) Stressman; Justin (Meghan) Stressman; daughter Kaylee Stressman; 4 grandchildren Courtney Breanna Arnold, Avina Mae Hamilton, Emma Isabella Stressman, Sophia Rose Stressman; 3 sisters, Penny (Lee) Holstege, Amber [Greg]Garrow, Holly ( Mark) Goltz; brother Ross (Angie) VanderJagt; many nieces and nephews; Melody was preceded in death by a daughter Breanna in 1987. SERVICE A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Word of Hope Reformed Church 284 N 3rd Ave Fruitport MI 49415 starting at 11am. Visitation with family 1 hour prior to service. There will also be a time of fellowship at the community center with a brunch next door after the service. MEMORIAL: In Lieu of Flowers donation may be made to: Word of Hope Church window fund.
