JOHNSON, MR. MELFORD O. Fruitport Mr. Melford O. Johnson, age 86, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in Muskegon. He was born on November 27, 1917 in Wallin, MI, to John & Amelia Olsen Johnson and married the former Marjorie Morrow on June 1, 1946 in Beulah, MI. Mr Johnson served his country in the US Army in WWII installing communication lines before invasions. He began work at Teledyne Continental Motors in 1946 and then became a self employed builder in 1950. In 1960, he and his wife, built and operated the El Royal Motel, Restaurant, Bar & Party Store for 13 years, retiring in 1972. Mr. Johnson enjoyed fishing & hunting, skills that he passed onto his children & grandchildren. SURVIVORS Wife, Marjorie; 2 daughters, Linda Jerry Philo of Thompsonville, MI & Karen Barry Kieft of Fruitport; 7 grandchildren, Lorri Pat Schneider, Stacey Mike Fekete, Wayne Lisa Philo, Shannon Rob Laffeur, Barry Kieft, Benji Kristen Kieft & Brandon Kieft; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, John Fern Johnson of Muskegon; brother & sister-in-laws, George Barb Morrow of Lady Lake, FL; many special nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Elsie Geeting & Marina Hutchinson; 3 brothers, Alvin, Lewis & Einar Johnson. SERVICE Saturday, June 5, 2004, 1 PM at the Eden Bible Church, 7991 Worden, Beulah, MI with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. Interment at Thompsonville Cemetery. VISITATION Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at theClock Funeral Home in Muskegon, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 8 PM followed by a reception in the Clock Family Center. MEMORIAL: Kidney Foundation or the American Red Cross. CLOCK - Muskegon
