Maurine L Rea

Mrs. Maurine Liberty Rea, age 100, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 24, 1917 to Iver & Maude (Covell) Erickson. She was a lifetime resident of North Muskegon. Maurine was married to Ralph W. Rea for 56 years. He preceded her in death in 1993. Maurine was captain of the girls' basketball team at North Muskegon High School in her junior year, 1934. She was a charter member at St. Albans Episcopal Church, active for many years in the Cherry Guild in the gift shop at Hackley Hospital, and was a member at Lincoln Golf Course for several years. She also worked on the election board in North Muskegon. Special thanks to the Budd family and Judi & Bill McIntyre for all their loving care over the years. SURVIVORS Maurine is survived by: sister, Lorraine, daughter Janet (Robert) Bond from Rockford, MI and son Robert (Susan) Rea from Seattle, WA, 5 grandchildren, Robert (Tammy) Bond Jr., Angela Bond Paauwe, Christopher (Elena) Bond, Lindsay (Chad) Wing, and Tristan (Blair) Fowler,10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by parents Iver and Maude (Covell) Erickson, three brothers: Donald, Kenneth, and Norval. Six sisters: Olive, Evelyn, Dorothy, Geraldine, Elaine & Lucille. SERVICE Saturday, July 21, 2018, Visitation at noon with services at 1:00 pm, held at Community United Methodist Church in North Muskegon.
