Maurice Buckwald

Mr. Maurice LeRoy Buckwald, age 94, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 12, 1921 to Hans & Minnie (Raebel) Buckwald and married the former Shirley Daugherty on January 20, 1940. Mr. Buckwald had been employed as a Team Leader for Muskegon Piston Ring in the Tool Room for over 30 years until retiring. Maurice enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling. SURVIVORS Son, Ronald (Dodie) Buckwald of Muskegon; daughters, Patricia (Bill) Rexford of Muskegon, Sandra Van Oordt of Norton Shores; grandchildren, Kimberly (Marv) Jakubiak, Gregory Buckwald, Scott (Molly) Van Oordt, Trisha Van Oordt, Craig (Alison Brookhouse) Van Oordt, Beth (Jeff) Olson, Sherin (Joe) Austin, Dr. Todd (Mary Beth) Rexford, Paula (Jim) Kramer, Kristen (Stuart) Smith; 22 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Arlene Bird; brother-in-law, Robert (Ellen) Daugherty; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 2014. SERVICE Private family services will be held. MEMORIAL: The Agape Home, where Maurice has lived for the past eight years.
