Maureen Kay Buckingham born 3/3/1941 and passed away 11/27/2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.


Maureen was born in Hart, Michigan to Helen (Brooks) Meisch and Louis Meisch. She was raised in the Muskegon area and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1959. She played the clarinet in the Junior band. After graduating she worked at Home Loan Office Supply for a year and then headed off to Kansas City, MO to attend TWA airline school. After completing airline school, she worked as a ticket agent for 2 years before returning home to Michigan. Upon returning home, she was employed as a Surgical Tech and worked at Seaway Clinic. Not long after returning home, she met Joseph Buckingham, and they were married September 10, 1966. They welcomed 3 children into their family, Michael, Joseph, and Tricia. Through the years she did catering for friends and family and worked in the kitchen at Muskegon Catholic Central where her children attended school, but she enjoyed being a mother and caring for her family the most. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, making Christmas ornaments and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.


She was proceeded in death by her parents, Louis & Helen Meisch, her husband Joseph Buckingham and a life-long friend, JoAnn Michael.


Survivors include 1 brother, Louis (Danielle) Meisch. Her children: Michael Buckingham, Joseph (Karen) Buckingham, Tricia (Shawn) Allen, Hilde Maes. Her grandchildren: Jentri Batton, Cody (Jess) Gosma, Braeden (Adam) Martin, Austin (Paige) Buckingham, Josie Buckingham, Jordan\(Jasmine) Tucker, Kendall (Sawyer) Buhlman, Aubrey (Dawson) DeKleine, and Ian Buckingham. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Gracynn Batton, Kinsley Knapp, Camryn Batton, AJ West, Eve Buckingham, Jack Buckingham, and Baby girl Buhlman (due in May of 2025). Also, special life-long friends: Kay, Wanda, and Bev, as well as many others.


SERVICES


Saturday 1:00 PM December 21, 2024 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception 239 W Clay Aveneue Muskegon. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the start of the service at Church.
