Jennifer Lynn Mathews, age 26, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, November 28, 2006 in Muskegon following a life long struggle with cerebral palsy. Jennifer was born March 25, 1980 in Grand Rapids, and moved to Muskegon from Hersey, MI 2 years ago. Among the highlights in her life were boat riding and camping. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Jon and Roberta Mathews of Muskegon; her mother and step-father, Cheryl and John Mroz of Greenville; 2 brothers, Zachary and Joshua Mathews; 1 half-sister, Mallory Mathews; 2 step-brothers, John and Richard Schwing; grandparents, Bernie (Carl) Anderson-Church, Stan and Marvella Mathews, Kathy Beauregard, Robert Morse, Rose Mroz; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jennifer was preceded in death by grandpa Art Anderson; brother Gregory Mathews; and nephew Jason Schwing. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Burial will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening, 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass.
