Mason E. Archer

ARCHER, MR. MASON E. Whitehall Mr. Mason E. Archer, age 69, fell asleep in Jesus on Thursday, April 21, 2005 and awaits the resurrection morning. He was born in Muskegon on October 19, 1935 to Mason E. & Elizabeth Vanderwier Archer, Sr. and married the former Virginia Seebald on July 5, 1958. Mr. Archer was a patriotic American who willingly served in the U.S. Army for 2 years and the Army Reserves for 2 years. He had worked in personnel / human resources at Howmet Corp. for over 32 years until retiring in 2000. He was a member of the American Legion of Whitehall, Old Newsboys, and was the Sergeant at Arms with Miss Muskegon - Ottawa Scholarship Program for 5 years. He loved bowling & golf, and was an avid gardener who especially loved to grow the biggest radishes in the state. He was a huge MSU Fan. Go State!! Mr. Archer will always be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and loyalty to his family & friends. SURVIVORS Wife of 46 years, Virginia; 2 sons, Stephen Archer of Grand Rapids, Jim Lisa Archer of Zeeland; 2 daughters, Cindi Archer-Mitchell Bill of Danville, VA, Katherine Archer-Sullivan James of Whitehall; 7 grandchildren, Amber Weerstra, Brock & Jessie Baxter, Amber, Bethany & Jenelle Archer, Jansen Sullivan; 2 stepgrandchildren, Adam & Beth Mitchell; 2 sisters, Merry Tim Smith, Marilyn Vallie Cooper; brother, Merritt Paulette Archer, Sr.; father-in-law, Carl Mary Seebald; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews; beloved pet, Bob, his cat. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Father Marvin Archer; and by his mother-in-law, Jenny Seebald. SERVICE Monday, April 25, 2005, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Pastor Leon Snyder officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION Saturday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM and on Sunday, 2-5 PM at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: Old Newsboys. Clock - Muskegon
