Mary Louise VanLente VAN LENTE, MRS. MARY LOUISE Casnovia Mary Louise VanLente, age 86 died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary L. VanLente was born on May 17, 1919 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late James and Delphina (Dion) Koskuba. Mary married George "Nels" VanLente on June 7, 1941. He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1985. Mary enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, bonfires, singing and was very involved at St. Francis Catholic Church. She loved being a full time mom, raising all 12 children. Mary is survived by 8 sons and daughters-in-law: David and Lin of Canton, MI, Stephen and Diane of Cascade, MI, Peter and Vicki and Paul and Sharon both of Grand Rapids, MI. Philip of Casnovia, MI, Andrew of Grant, MI, Anthony of Wyoming, MI and Edward and Paula of Grant, MI; 4 daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Lou Hehl & Ken Dekort of Coopersville, MI, Charlene and Rick Degroot of Grand Rapids, MI, Beth and Joe Lemieux of Coopersville, MI and Rose Mary VanLente of Lynn, MA; 27 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and brother-in-law: Alice and Ralph VanLente and Rosemary Allen both of Muskegon, MI. Mary is preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband, Nels by 1 sister, Margaret Ann Koskuba; 1 grandchild, Jackie Hehl; and 1 great grandchild, Samuel Wilfong. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2006, at 11am, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Conklin, MI with Fr. John Porter, Celebrant. The family will be at the church 1 hour prior to the service to greet friends. Burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery in the Spring. Memorials have been established in Mary's name to: Marywood of Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters or Hospice of Michigan. Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna is in charge of funeral arrangements.
