Mrs. Mary Gertrude Schneider, age 87, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 17, 1931 to Clifford & Mary (Zinn) Olson and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1949. Mary worked at Pitkins Popcorn Stand, Goody Goody, Davis Bakery, Panzl's Grocery and the Playhouse Theatre until she married Harold Schneider on June 23, 1951 and they moved to Indianapolis Indiana in 1954. In 1960 they moved the family to Lansing Michigan where she spent several years working for Spartan stores keeping inventory. Mrs. Schneider was an active member of White Lake Wesleyan Church, the White Lake Senior Center Kitchen Band and Muskegon Lumbertown Cloggers. Mary had a great love for children and spent many years teaching them of God's Love. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and crafting along with music and singing. She will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Husband of 67 years, Harold Schneider Sr.; sons, Harold (Marlene) Schneider Jr. of Charlotte, Gary (Kathy) Schneider of Grand Ledge, Terry (Brenda Gnagi) Schneider of OH; daughters, Vicki (Paul) Esch of Grand Ledge, Lisa (Stephen) Shinaver of Kentwood; grandchildren, Joshua (Emily) Hakes, Jessie Blomfield, Chelsea (Tyler) Kasul, Michael (Laura Kirby) Esch, Alex & Lindsey Shinaver, Kira & Branden Schneider, Brad Sorensen; great grandchildren, Callen, Marynn & Charlotte Hakes, Katlyn & Jaxson Blomfeld, Logan Sorensen; sisters-in-law, Beverly (Arthur) Grumm of Montague, Patsy Schneider of Montague, Esther Peterson of Rothbury; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Owen Schneider; sisters-in-law, Arlene & Russell Stowe, Luella & Wilard Fedders, Lorraine & Lawrence Fremd; brothers-in-law, Wayne Peterson, William & Maria Schneider. SERVICE Monday, July 16, 2018, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Jessie Blomfield officiating. Interment in Oakhurst Cemetery. MEMORIAL: LifeCircles or White Lake Senior Center.
