HOEKENGA, MRS. MARY JANE Roosevelt Park, MI Mrs. Mary Jane Hoekenga, age 73, died Sunday, May 18, 2003. She was born in Muskegon, MI on January 12, 1930 to Guy & Mary Seranko Jacobs & married Gary Hoekenga in Muskegon, MI on May 12, 1951. Mrs. Hoekenga had been a homemaker & an active member of Westwood Reformed Church where her care giving spirit was expressed in so many ways. She also sacrificially volunteered her time & special skills at the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Mrs. Hoekenga enjoyed cooking, was an excellent cook & had a loving relationship with her grandchildren & enjoyed babysitting them. She showed strong courage through her illness & will be deeply missed by everyone. SURVIVORS Husband, Gary; 2 sons, Donald Gary Hoekenga of Muskegon, MI & Bryan Frances Hoekenga of Roosevelt Park, MI; 1 daughter, Patty Max Green of Norton Shores, MI; 3 grandchildren, Samantha, Nick 1 sister, Shirley Haan of Ravenna, MI; 1 niece, Ann Russell Shavalier of Nunica, MI; 1 nephew, Tim Michelle Haan of Ravenna, MI.
