Mary Elizabeth Haug

Miss Mary E. Haug, age 96, died Monday, April 5, 2010. Her maternal grandparents were immigrants from County Cork Ireland in 1870 settling in Muskegon and her paternal grandparents arrived from Germany in the 1850's to settle here as well. Mary was born in Muskegon, MI on July 31, 1913 to William & Mary (Drinan) Haug and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1931. After graduation, she served as a secretary to the church for 3 years. Miss Haug had been employed as a secretary for the Muskegon County Chapter of Crippled Children & Adults for 33 years until retiring in 1978. She was a life long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and volunteered at Senior Services & the Women's Division of St. Mary's Church. She was a loving and devoted aunt and will be missed by her nieces & nephews. SURVIVORS Brother, John; nephews, William (Linda) Haug of Portage, John L. Haug of Muskegon, Andrew Haug of South Bend, IN; nieces, Joanne (Dan) Warren of Rockford, and Anna (Greg) Moss of Muskegon; great nieces & nephews, Michael (Melissa) Haug of Muskegon, Patrick Haug of Lansing, Jessica Warren of Rockford, Madeline Moss, Lauren Moss and Andrew Moss, all of Muskegon; two great-grandnephews, Adam Haug and Ryan Haug. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Joanne Haug. SERVICE Friday, April 9, 2010, 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Matt Barnum officiating.
