Mary Catherine Grover

Mary Catherine Grover, passed away February 3, 2008; a kind and loving soul was called home to her deserving rest. Mary was born June 16, 1923 to Victoria and Jocob Drost of Muskegon, Michigan. On November 21, 1945 she married Hallard "Jim" Grover. They resided in the White Lake area where they raised six children. In the early '70's they relocated to the Ft. Myers, FL area where Mary would become Jim's first mate on their crab boat. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Ben. She was also preceded by two sisters, Rose and Laura and three brothers, Carl, Bill, and John. Leaving to cherish her memory are her dear sister, Agnes Rogalla of Muskegon, MI, four sons Lynn (Eileen), Bill (Janis), Jim (Andrea), David (Debbie); and a daughter, June (John) Schmidt. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Ft. Myers, FL, Sat. February 23, 2008 at 10:00 am, followed by a gathering to celebrate her life. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association.
