Mary Margaret Griffis

GRIFFIS, MRS. MARY MARGARET Fruitport Mrs. Mary Margaret VanRiper Griffis passed away April 22, 2004. She was born March 6, 1924 to John and Edith Stott VanRiper. She attended Muskegon Public Schools and graduated winter half at Muskegon in 1942. On August 10, 1945 she married Russell E. Griffis after his return from World War II. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1998. She retired from Continental Motors after 41 years of service in 1986. She was a member of McGraft Memorial Congregational Church most of her life. She loved to sew and knit. SURVIVORS Surviving are her children, Sue Ellyn Sam Easterly, Ronald Jon Patti Braddock; grandchildren, Lisa Bud Ramsey, Mark Claudine Easterly, Jeffrey Griffis, Korey BJ Salgel & Karen Don Mykols; great grandchildren, Brianna Ramsey, William and Gabrielle Easterly, Jacob and Cassandra Griffis. She left many friends from Johnson Hall where she spent many hours in fellowship. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert H. and sister, Janice E. Surviving is her sister-in-law, Lucile VanRiper and brother-in-law, Charles Smith & many nieces & nephews. SERVICE Monday, April 26, 2004, 2:00 PM at McGraft Memorial Congregational Church with Dr. Gerald Wahr officiating. Interment at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION Sunday, 2-5 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
