Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Eyke, age 91, died Thursday, June 14, 2007. She was born in Oak Hill, IL on October 16, 1915 to Louis Phillip & Mary Letessie (Baird) Kratzer and married William C. Eyke, Sr. on July 12, 1936. Liz was a member of First Congregational Church and Church Circle #9. She was also very active in Hackley Hospital Auxiliary, Service League, Mary Free Bed, North Muskegon Book Club, Muskegon Country Club, Friends of Hackley Public Library and Friends of Art. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, travel, cards, reading, music, gardening, and most especially, her friendships. SURVIVORS 2 sons, William C. (Mary Lou) Eyke, Jr. of North Muskegon & Jefferson D. (Sandra) Eyke of North Muskegon & Tequesta, FL; daughter, Gina (Loren) Avis of Golden, CO; 7 grandchildren, Melissa (Marc) Verplank / LaFleur, Marte (Ron) Matthews, Deborah Eyke, Susan (Hap) Hewes, Christopher (Mary) Eyke, Lauren (Robert) Winn & Justin Delz; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Sister William Eyke of IN, Ruth Kratzer of IN. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 26, 1978; and by 3 brothers. SERVICE A celebration of Liz's life will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007, 11:30 AM at the Muskegon Country Club. INTERMENT A private family service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Tim VanderHaar officiating. MEMORIAL: West Shore Symphony Endowment Fund, Walker Library of North Muskegon or M.
