Mary Dexter

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Dexter, age 86, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 10, 1930 to Marvin & Genevieve (Bartlett) Taylor. In her younger days, Mary worked for Fruitport Schools. She fondly recalled memories of driving the lunch truck from one school to the other. Mary was a member of First Free Methodist Church where she very active serving as Sunday School superintendent for many years and also serving as the church secretary. Mary was active in child evangelism and loved leading the little ones to the Lord. She was also involved with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. But her friends and family were the world to her. SURVIVORS Mary is survived by her children, Susan Bazany, Tony (Rebecca) Dexter, Roger (Nadine) Dexter; daughter-in-law, Cindy Dexter; 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; one very special granddaughter, Jennifer, who took care of her in an amazing and compassionate way; brothers Marvin (Darlene) Taylor and Jack (Sue) Taylor; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Genevieve; her sons, Charles "Chuck" Dexter, Michael Dexter and grandson, Nicholas Benfield. CELEBRATION OF LIFE Thursday, June 23, 2016, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at First Free Methodist Church with Rev. Carlos Ramos officiating.
