Mary Day

Mrs. Mary Day, age 91, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014. She was born in Stanwood, Iowa on April 16, 1923 to Frank & Florence (Large) Horr and married Leland Day on February 26, 1943. Mrs. Day was the Administrative Assistant to the President of Mercy College - Detroit for over 20 years until retiring in 1988. Mary was a pianist who loved classical music. She was a master at crossword puzzles and enjoyed her needlework. SURVIVORS Daughters, Leslie Day of Muskegon, Elaine Day of Muskegon, Alison (Ron) Purgiel of Manistee; grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Cody Purgiel of Manistee; sister, Helen (Richard) Palmer of IA; many nieces, nephews & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leland in 1986.
