Mary Olive "Tex" Champion

Mrs. Mary Olive "Tex" Champion, age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. She was born in York Town, TX on February 24, 1918 to Moffett H. & Clara (Chapman) Kerr and married James E. Champion in 1939. Mrs. Champion had been the owner of the Cottage Inn for years until retiring. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her pets, dancing and traveling. SURVIVORS Son, Quinn (Linda) Champion of Muskegon; granddaughters, Carri (Craig) Skocelas, Jennifer (Paul) VanderWall, Mary Beth (Derek) Wyler; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her good friends, Lillian & Donald McClary. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, October 21, 2011, 7:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Cynthia Holder-Rich officiating.
