Mary Carlisle

Mrs. Mary E. Carlisle, age 72, went to be with her Lord July 23, 2007. Mary was born on September 28, 1934 to Arthur and Fern (Anderson) Putney in Shelby, MI. She graduated from Hackley School of Nursing and received her Bachelors degree from Wheaton College. She was an instructor of nursing at Muskegon Community College. On March 18, 1967 she married Jesse J. Carlisle in Muskegon. Mrs. Carlisle was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church. Her SURVIVORS include her husband, Jesse; 2 children, Daniel (Carol) Carlisle of Rolland, IA and Ruth (Andrew) Frudd of Dewittville, NY; 2 step-sons, Richard and Roger Carlisle of Muskegon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchild-ren; 2 brothers, Robert Putney and Milford (Ruthanna) Putney; a sister, Lois (Guy) Rayle; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carlisle was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bonnie (Richard) Shinew. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, 1188 Evanston Ave., with Pastor Andrew Frudd officiating and Pastors Allan J. Engstrom and Shane Prewitt assisting. VISITATION will be 6-8 Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and one hour prior to the service at church. MEMORIALS to Evanston Avenue Baptist Church or the Gideon Bible Association would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
