Marva Jo Sargent, also known as "Jo", age 78, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. She was born on January 27, 1945, in Muskegon, MI to the Climmie T & Florine Sargent. She met her husband, Roston Sargent, in 1965, then later married on April 25, 1975. Within their unity together, they shared 5 children. Marva began her career as a CNA for Hillcrest Nursing Home, then at Mercy Hospital where she retired from after working over 30 years. She was a faithful member of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church under the direction of Suffragan Bishop Avery D. Burrel. Marva enjoyed bowling, traveling and was known to everyone for throwing the best parties. She loved spending time with family and friends and going out to eat at Red Lobster. Marva will be remembered for her Big Heart and Loving Spirit.

Marva leaves memories to cherish with her Husband, Roston Sargent; 5 Children: Roxanne Sargent-Carpenter and Darin Sargent both of Muskegon MI, Margie (Clarence) Jones and Doshia (Jerry) Sargent both of Magnolia, AR; and Smead Sargent Jr of Lafayette, LA. 12 Grandchildren: Demario Harris, Adrian Sargent, Beverly Vaughn, Jasmyne Vaughn, Kerrea Darkins, Xzavier Fondren, Sonny Creer, Brandon (Jasmine) Creer, Tiffany Sargent, Britany Sargent, Thristan Adams and Jeremy Colvin; 22 great grandchildren: Her Mother, Florine Sargent; 4 Sisters: Dora Blank of Milwaukee, WI, Loretta Sargent of Lansing, MI, Patrice Sargent-Nash and Renee Kitchen-McElrath both of Muskegon, MI. 3 Brothers: Claude (Linda) Sargent Sr of Fontana, CA, Charles Sargent of Grand Rapids, MI, and Roy (Katherine) Sargent of Muskegon, MI. Sister-in-law, Emma Jean Sargent; and a host of Nieces and Nephews who she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her Father Climmie T Sargent; Grandparents, Lillie & Edward McDaniel, Viola & Soloman Dean, Roy Sargent; 2 Grandchildren Wanda Creer, and Brandon Sargent, Son-in-law, Larry Carpenter; and Daughter-in-law, Linda Sargent.

SERVICE

Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 12:00 Noon at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church with Suffragan Bishop Avery D. Burrel officiating. Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION

One hour prior to the service at the church.
