RODGERS, MRS. MARVA J. WIDOW OF CHARLES Norton Shores, MI ''Her love and care halo her memory with brighter radiance, for we have discovered that nowhere else in the world is such loving self-sacrifice to be found.'' Laura Ingalls Wilder Mrs. Marva J. Rodgers, age 75, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in the company of her children. She was born in Muskegon, MI on June 22, 1927 to Carl & Jean Edlund Long. Marva graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1945. She married Charles ''Chuck'' Rodgers her high school sweetheart, on April 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2001. She loved being a wife & mom. After the kids were grown, she worked for Mona Shores Schools Food Service & retired in 1985. She enjoyed her family, her friends, & liked to travel when she could get Chuck to go. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of First Presbyterian Church. SURVIVORS 2 sons, David Rhonda Rodgers of Wyoming, MI & Chris Donna Rodgers of Rockford, MI; 1 daughter, Lynn Michael Schaner of Roosevelt Park, MI; 7 grandchildren, Courtney, Joslyn, Benjamin & Zachary Rodgers, Alex, Jacob & Erin Schaner; 1 brother, Chuck Dolly Long of IN; 4 sisters-in-law, Elaine & Irene Rodgers & Mary Janet John Lehan all of Muskegon & Jean Wills of FL; brother-in-law, Walter Lynn Rodgers of KS. She also leaves many wonderful friends. SERVICE Saturday, June 7, 2003, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel in Muskegon with Rev. Fred Halde officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, 5-8 PM & Saturday, one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home.
