Marva J. Petty

Mrs. Marva J. Petty, age 80, passed away Saturday evening, June 7, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born in Muskegon on July 9, 1927 to Benjamin and Nina (Pringle) Salisbury and was a life resident of the area. Marva was a member of Calvary Church where she volunteered in the nursery for over 30 years. On June 23, 1951, Marva married William Petty and he survives her along with 2 daughters, Nina (Steve) Broek of Muskegon and Sheila (Kenneth) Clark of Leesburg, VA; 2 grandsons, Steven and Jonathan Broek; sister, Jaqueline DeVries; twin sister, Sally Schuelke and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Irwin Swanson; her brother, Jimmy Salisbury and 2 brothers-in-law. SERVICES will be 10:30AM Thursday at Calvary Church with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4PM & 6-8PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 INTERMENT will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mrs. Petty's name may be made to Calvary Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
