Mrs. Marla Marie Chandonnet/ Charnock, age 56, died unexpectedly Friday, August 31, 2007 at her home in San Jose. She was born August 8, 1951 in Muskegon to Victor and Beverly Chandonnet, Sr. Marla lived in Michigan the first 30 years of her life before relocating to California. Marla was an alumnus of San Jose State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in Psychology. She spent the past 24 years in San Jose with her husband Howard "Doug" Charnock. SURVIVORS include her loving husband, Doug; parents, Victor and Beverly Chandonnet, Sr. of Muskegon; brother, Victor "Skip" Chan-donnet, Jr. of Nunica; 3 sisters, Monica (Edward) Merrill of Muskegon, Cindra (Robert) Bring-edahl of Twin Lake, and Lexi (Bryan) Kust of Waunakee, WI; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her sister, Lisa (Steve) Waddell of Twin Lake. Marla loved nature and was happiest at the beach collecting shells, rocks, and glass. She always gave selflessly to others, always remembering birthdays, thinking of beautiful handmade gifts for friends, and always willing to help others in need. She loved crafts, becoming skilled in many areas including glassblowing and ceramics. Marla had been reborn, accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior and was an avid student of the Bible, recently traveling to the Holy Land. In the last years of her life she worked tirelessly and lovingly to care for her father-in-law, Howard O. Charnock in her home. She will be remembered by all as a beautiful, natural person who enriched the lives of those around her and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service was held in California. Local VISITATION with the family will be held at The Lee Chapel Family Center Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 1-3 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Shepherd's Outreach Network, c/o Edwin Charnock, 1206 Lake Grove Loop, Midlothian, TX 76065.
