Mrs. Janet Marks, age 76, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 in Blue Lake Twp., Michigan. She was born February 19, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to Patrick and Katharyn (Quinn) Hassett and has lived in the Muskegon area since 1947. Mrs. Marks worked as a teacher for Muskegon Public Schools, St. Francis deSales Catholic School and CAAP Head Start for Muskegon/Oceana. She had a great love for her family and for playing bingo. On February 3, 1951, she married, Gordon A. Marks in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include her husband, Gordon, 6 children, Katharyn M. Marks (James Klimaski) of Silver Spring, Maryland, Pamela (Jim) Fitzsimmons of Muskegon, Linda (Ron) Shafer of Newport, North Carolina, Michelle Marks, Michael Marks and Patrick Marks all of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Gloria Hassett and Romaine VandenBerg and brother and sister-in-law Ken and Lee Marks of Long Beach, CA. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas (Jane) Hassett, Joseph Hassett, James Hassett, Margaret Hassett. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 2 PM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 1-2 PM.
