Cunningham,
Marjorie
Formerly of Muskegon, Michigan
Marjorie Cunningham, age 92, peacefully passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 in Lansing, MI. She was born in Liverpool, England on November 27, 1931 to Malcom & Elizabeth (Vose) Burns. She met her future husband Lyman Cunningham while he was stationed in England during his time in the Air Force. At the young age of 19 she boarded a ship for New York City, where she and Lyman were married on June 27, 1952. It was in Muskegon, an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar country, that she and Lyman began to build their life and family over the next 68 years. She was embraced by the Cunningham family and soon made lifelong friendships with those who became her extended family - the women of Ruddiman Terrace and fellow English ladies. Marjorie was an exemplary mother and human being who loved and was loved by so many. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her mother, husband, children and countless friends. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. Marjorie was a deeply religious person and very active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church her whole life until her health required a move to Lansing.
