Marie A. Werschem

Mrs. Marie A. Werschem, age 91 passed away early Sunday morning at Harbor Hospice-Poppen House in Fruitport, following a short illness. Marie was born in Grand Haven on August 16, 1916 to Floris and Hendricka (Satter) VanSchaik. On June 24, 1937, she married Mr. Donald F. Werschem, Sr. and together they founded Quality Plating Company, Inc. Mr. Werschem preceded her in death on October 17, 1997. Mrs. Werschem was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Marco Island, FL and was a former member of the Muskegon Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Muskegon Garden Club and the Muskegon Lady Elks. She is survived by: five children, Caron M. Karner of Norton Shores, Donald F. (Connie) Werschem, Jr. of Brentwood, CA, Craig B. (Dee) Werschem of Norton Shores, Rick J. (Marilyn) Werschem of Norton Shores and Helen J. (Joffre) LeFevre of Lawrence, MA; two sisters, Helen Bowman of Naples, FL and Harriet Harrison of Marco Island, FL; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Flory VanSchaik. A memorial service will be held at: The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Wednesday, 11:00 A.M.
