She was born in Grant, MI on October 21, 1914 to Sydney & Bessie Shelner Showers and married Earl Welcome on November 25, 1939. Mrs. Welcome had been a homemaker and was a charter member of Broadway Baptist Church, the Ladies Guild, and was a 4-H Leader. SURVIVORS Son, Gerald Barbara Welcome of Branch, MI; 2 daughters, Carol John Anderson of Muskegon, Donna Wayman of Branch, MI; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ida Kotke of Ionia, MI, Ila Smith of Big Rapids, MI; brother, Earl Showers of Elsie, MI; daughter-in-law, Betty Welcome of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1960; son, Ronald; 3 grandchildren; sister, Irene Norton; 4 brothers, Robert, Leland, Nelson, Joe; son-in-law, Marvin Wayman. SERVICE Tuesday, June 7, 2005, 2:00 PM at Broadway Baptist Church with Pastor Don Letson officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
