Smith, Maria Dela-Luz North Muskegon, Michigan Maria Dela-Luz Smith, age 78, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico on March 30, 1941, the oldest of ten children. Maria lived in the Chicago area working as a nanny before moving to the Muskegon area in the late 1970s where she married and had one daughter named Francis, who survives her. A prayerful person, Maria had a great devotion to Jesus and particular saints and she prayed frequently for those most in need. She attended Prince of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed nature and animals. But foremost in her life was her daughter Francis combined with her love of children.
