Mr. Madison Monroe Myers, Jr., age 83, passed away at his home on Friday, July 13, 2007. He was born on June 27, 1924 in Haddonfield, NJ to Madison Monroe, Sr. and Helen Sarah (Runyan) Myers and had lived in Pennsylvania, Florida, Cleveland, OH, New York, San Francisco, CA, Peoria, IL and Portland, OR before moving to Muskegon in 2000. Madison was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in WWII. He was a graduate of Princeton University and was the Vice-President of sales for James Talcott, Inc. before retiring in 2000. Madison volunteered at the Muskegon Museum, enjoyed reading and theater and founded the Corn Stalk Theater in Peoria, IL in 1953. He is survived by his son, Madison M. "Matt" (Michelle) Myers III of San Mateo, CA ; 2 grandchildren; 1 half-brother, Huston K. (Barbara) Myers of Florida; 2 nieces, Martha (Peter) Monroe-Long of Vienna, VA, Maude M. (Robert) Ham of Burbank, CA; and 2 nephews, Peter L. (Sue) Myers of Muskegon and Mark B. Myers of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Larry Myers. SERVICES will be 12 Noon Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Peter and Sue's home.
