Madella "Della" Fairfield

Madella Mae Fairfield, "Della," age 87, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Holland, Michigan, due to complications from a previous stroke. Born in Muskegon and raised in the Lakeside neighborhood, Della graduated from Muskegon Senior High School in 1940 and worked at Hackley Hospital in Accounts Receivable. She was a past President of the Lady Lions of the Muskegon Lions Club, was active in the Muskegon Elks, and was a longtime Big Red Booster for Muskegon High School. Della was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church in Muskegon. She will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS Surviving family members include a daughter, Diane Webster of Hampton, VA; sons, Douglas (Sally) Fairfield of Santa Fe, NM and Daren Fairfield of Holland; sister, Eunice (Robert) Croup of Carmel, IN; & brother, Robert (Pat) Young of Roosevelt Park. Della also leaves three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald, her parents, Laurence and Alenah Young; and her brother Alfred Young. SERVICE Monday, July 27, 2009, 11:00 AM at Lakeside Baptist Church, 2250 Denmark Street, with Pastor Wayne M. Bomgaars & Pastor Roy Williamson officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION Sunday, July 26, 2-5 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon.
