Lyle George Race, age 85, was born on July 21, 1922 to the late Forrest and Louise Race in Pentwater, Michigan and passed away on April 21, 2008. Lyle worked as a cement finisher by trade. He loved living out west in the desert in Courtside, AZ cooking out, fishing and looking for Indian artifacts. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Cobb, and a son Lyle George Race, Jr.; several grandchildren; two sisters, Iva (Bob) Poulin and Lorraine Byard, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. on Friday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. with Lynn Edlund officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military Rites will conducted by the Muskegon County VFW County Council following the service.
