Lydia H. Schultz Reynolds

Lydia Hazel Schultz Reynolds, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on April 14, 2018. She was born on February 21, 1927 in Fruitport, Michigan, the tenth of 15 children to Louis Schultz and Olga Schauer. Lydia loved her brothers and sisters and especially admired her mother, Olga, whom she lost at only 11 years of age. Lydia had a determined spirit, which would have been warranted as she was the youngest living girl amongst many brothers and two other sisters. One of her favorite things to do was tell of the adventures she and her siblings had growing up on the farm in Fruitport. After her mother passed away she worked hard and helped with many aspects of the Schultz family farm life. She met William Carl Reynolds at any early age, married him, and they were off to boot camp in California as he had enlisted in the military. Lydia and Bill returned to the Norton Shores area to rear their family. They built their house on Ione Ave. and worked hard to make that place a home for their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; Lydia spent countless hours cleaning, painting, decorating and upgrading that house. When Bill passed in away in 2002 they were about to celebrate 60 years of marriage. She enjoyed refinishing old wooden antiques, using meticulous detail in doing so. Lydias family was her pride and joy, and she was loved dearly by all of them. She was a member of the Family Bible Church of Muskegon. SURVIVORS Lydia is survived by her children, Flora Kay Radspieler (Daniel), Judy Marie Wood (George), and William Carl, Jr. (Mary Gonyon). Also, her 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, Loretta Finley; her parents, all of her siblings, and her stepmother, Hilda Lack. There will be a great Schultz reunion in heaven as Lydia returns home! SERVICE Saturday, April 21, 2018, 1:00 pm at Family Bible Church, 1256 W. Broadway, with Rev. Jerry DePoy officiating. VISITATION Saturday, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Family Bible Church. Lydia has collected many family photos over the years and they will be available for family members to take at the services. Interment will be in Norton Shores cemetery. MEMORIAL: In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Family Bible Church to help with projects in memory of Lydia Reynolds or Harbor Hospice Foundation.
