LUNSFORD, MRS. LYDAREENE North Muskegon Mrs. Lydareene Lunsford, age 94, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Hillcrest Nursing Centre in North Muskegon. A graduate of Ward Belmont College in Nashville with a major in music, Mrs. Lunsford was a public school music teacher in Alabama and Florida before marrying Todd Lunsford, Jr. in 1933. She worked at Marshall Field Department Store in the Silver Department before she and Todd moved to Muskegon in 1937 with their young daughter, Ann. A second daughter, Kate, was born in Muskegon. In 1950, the Lunsfords built a home in North Muskegon on Tostenabe Lane where they lived for many years. Mrs. Lunsford worked at the Winter's Variety Store in North Muskegon for many years. The Lunfords were active in the First Congregational Church in Muskegon where Mrs. Lunsford played the piano, accompanying the choir in its rehearsals. She was a member of the All Twos and other groups in the church. She was also an active member of the local PEO chapter in Muskegon. She was a good neighbor and had many friends in the area. SURVIVORS Her older brother Robert Powell Majors of Charlotte; her daughters Ann Mikulski and Kate Lunsford; four grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Todd, preceded her in death in 1987. SERVICE Tuesday, May 25, 2004, 11:00 AM, at the Clock Chapel, with Rev. Donald Mathews officiating.
