Anthony,
LueJean
Muskegon, MI
LueJean Anthony, age 81, peacefully transitioned from this life on Thursday, July 4, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born in Columbus, Mississippi on September 14, 1942, to the union of Mamie Marie Anthony and JB Sanders. At the age of seven, LueJean and her mother migrated to Muskegon, Michigan, where she attended Muskegon Public Schools, and was a proud graduate of Muskegon High School. She furthered her education by attending Muskegon Business College.
She was employed at Hackley (Comerica) Bank and retired after 35 years. She loved shopping, gardening, barbecuing, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her grandchildren kept her lively! Her favorite holidays were Christmas and the 4th of July. The Lord delighted her by allowing her to see fireworks the entire week before she passed. LueJean accepted the Lord at an early age at Spring Street Baptist Church. Later in her Christian journey she joined the New Hope Baptist Church where she served under the direction of Pastor Gregory Kirksey. She was a woman of God who was loving, caring who was quick to listen and slow to anger.
LueJean became the "go-to" resource. You could say, she was the "matriarch of the family".She always poured love on others and saw the good in them. Many families and or friends confided in LueJean and trusted her with their secrets and deepest concerns. One of her great advice was to say write your frustration down then "put it in the bible (God's hands) and leave it alone!"
She leaves to cherish her memories four sons: Christopher (Mary) Anthony, Jonathan Anthony, Tony Williams, and Stephan Anthony; two daughters: Arlene Anthony-Hall, and Angela (Louis) Donley; siblings: Marianne Darnell, Veola McCowan, Sandra Anthony Mitchell, Valerie (Edward, Sr.) Madison, and Larry Anthony; sister-in-law Zelma Anthony; seven grandchildren: LaToya (Jeffrey) Shanks, Cameron Anthony, Sequita (Priest ) Bonsu, Christian Anthony, Ar'Brieanna Anthony-Baker, Lauren Anthony, and Ar'Yonna Donley; great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Shanks, Jr., Jet-Lin Shanks, Ja-Liyah Shanks, and Adina Bonsu; special children: Diane Scott, Irene McCrea, Elisia Hardiman, Carla Riley, Michelle Wallace, Rasheedah Nash, and Byron Denson;a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Marie Anthony and JB Sanders, her brother, Henry Anthony, nephew Jamal Anthony, and Goddaughter, Lori Moses.
