Louise Harnau Krill

Louise Harnau Krill, age 87, of Muskegon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Poppen House Hospice Residence, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Muskegon on August 20, 1939, to Lewis and Eloise (Harnau) Munz, Louise was a lifelong resident of the community she cherished. She was a proud graduate of North Muskegon High School and continued her education at Michigan State University, where she earned a degree and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

For many years, Louise was the dedicated buyer for the West Shore Tennis Club-a place central to her life and where she met her beloved husband, Ben Krill. They were married on August 31, 1997, and would have celebrated their 29th anniversary on August 31, 2026.

An avid and competitive tennis player in her youth, Louise maintained a passionate love for the sport throughout her life, never missing a major tournament on television. She was an avid golfer and long-standing member of Muskegon Country Club. She was also a life member of the Greater Muskegon Service League and a longtime, faithful attendee of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. For over 28 years, she and Ben enjoyed winters with many friends at the Boca Royale Country Club in Englewood, Florida, before returning to Muskegon full-time last spring.

Louise and her sister started the Lewis & Eloise " Bud" Munz Memorial Scholarship fund thru Muskegon's community foundation providing assistance to Muskegon area high school athletes in golf & tennis.

Despite significant health challenges, Louise met life with grace, strength, and a vibrant spirit. She will be remembered for her sharp mind, her honesty and forthright nature, her sense of style and love of "bling," and her deep-rooted bonds with family and friends.

Louise is survived by her devoted husband, Ben Krill; her sons Dr. Douglas "Chip" Jordan and Jeffrey M. (Rigel) Jordan; her sister, Barbara Peterman; Good Friend, Birgitta Gust Boynton, Ben's children Benjamin Krill, Suzanne Wilson, Kelly Guzman, and Liz Amor; plus, many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Columbarium in Muskegon. The family is considering a celebration of life at a later date to honor her memory with her wide circle of friends.
