Louis Charles Dye, Jr. age 64 of Muskegon Hts, MI departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Louis was born November 4, 1943 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Louis was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School, Muskegon Junior College (MCC), University of Michigan (obtaining a masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering), and later in life obtained a degree from the International Institute of Technology. Louis' profession as an Aeronautical Engineer afforded him the luxury of being one of the key designers of the turbine jet engine (still used by the military today) and working with the NASA space program in FL. Louis was employed at engineering firms in Cleveland, OH, Schenectady, NY, and Southfield MI. Louis retired from the profession in the early 80's. Louis leaves to cherish his memory: eight (8) brothers: Larry, James (Carol), Robert (Theresa), Paul (Mattie), Timothy (Alexis), and Oscar (Gwendolyn) all of Muskegon, Michigan; Johnny of Lansing, Michigan; Christopher of Denver, Colorado; four (4) sisters: Evelyn Hoffman, Marilyn (Roland - deceased)Martin, Vernice (John) Brown of Muskegon, Michigan, and Cynthia (Todd) McMurray of Holland, Michigan; two (2) surviving aunts, Willie Mae Davis of Gary, IN and Alma Dye of Muskegon Heights, MI; 27 nieces and nephews; 22 great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Lucille Dye; four uncles, Raymond Dye, Edmond Dye, Rev. Solomon Dye and Oscar Dye; two aunts, Virgie L. Dye, and Rosie Sterling. Services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Toombs Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from Noon until 9:00 p.m.
