Mrs. Lorraine Alice Olivares, age 71, went to be with her Lord after a long illness on Monday, September 3, 2007 at her home in Muskegon. She was born in Ferry, MI on June 24, 1936 to Jay E. and Lucille F. (Richardson) Sietsema and had been a resident of Muskegon for most of her life. Lorraine had been a hairdresser for 30 years before retiring from the Hume Home as a nurses assistant in 1994. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church and enjoyed reading and crocheting. Alice is survived by 7 children, Marcia L. Mirelez-Rivas of Grand Rapids, Enrique L. Olivares, Teresa M. (Beto) Olivares-Garza, Marcos R. (Susan) Olivares all of Muskegon, Angela R. (Robert) Romanin of Scottsdale, AZ, Thomas V. Olivares and Maria Elena (David) Estler both of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, James (Lorraine) Sietsema of Shelby, Philip (Eileen) Sietsema of Prague, OK and John (Bonnie) Sietsema of Whitehall; several nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Margaret Garcia whom the family expresses a special thanks to. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Rosemarie L. Olivares; 1 great-grandson, Anthony Luis Olivares; 1 brother, David Sietsema and 1 sister, Carol Lee Sietsema-Rutherford. SERVICES will be 3PM Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. VISITATION will be 6-8PM tonight, Tuesday, September 4, 2007 with a prayer service at 8PM, and 1 hour prior to the service. INTERMENT will be in Restlawn Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Lorraine's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Michigan.
