Lorraine M. Lamkin Jarvis

Mrs. Lorraine M. Lamkin Jarvis, age 83, joined our dad, William R. (Bud) Lamkin, and her heavenly Father on Friday, June 20, 2008. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 3, 1925 to Louis and Leona Capua. She was the family matriarch and a wonderful friend to many. She will be sadly missed by her children: Michael (Geralyn) Lamkin of Grand Haven, Patrick (MaryAnn) Lamkin of Muskegon, Kathleen (Daniel) Kott of Grand Rapids, Anne (Raymond) Fauset Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri; her step-daughter Carol (Clay) Deshner of Bremerton, Washington; her eight grand children; eight great grand children; many nieces and nephews; and one sister, Joyce (Anthony) Pavlich, of Muskegon. One sister, Louise Musk, preceded her in death. In 1995, Lorraine retired after 27 years as Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for the ASU Group based out of Lansing, Michigan. She married Ernest Jarvis the same year and was able to travel quite extensively; something that she truly enjoyed. He preceded her in death in 1999. Lorraine was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church her entire life. She spent the last 3 .5 years in St. Louis, Missouri where she resided with her youngest daughter. Lorraine was a very kind-hearted soul. She loved her family and was a loyal friend to many. She will be remembered for her strength, her keen wit, fantastic sense of humor, and her marvelous Italian cooking. Our family's loss is truly heaven's gain and she will always be carried in our hearts. We Love you Mom and we are truly blessed to have had you in our lives. Funeral mass will be Thursday, June 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 3252 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, with The Reverend Father Michael Olson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine's name to The American Diabetes Association, The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association or St Jude Children's Hospital.
