Lois Marie Van Krevelen

VanKrevelen, Lois East Grand Rapids, Michigan Lois Marie VanKrevelen grew up in Hill City, Minnesota, daughter of Henry and Rose. Lois lived most of her adult life in Muskegon, Michigan with her love, Nellis Donald VanKrevelen who preceded her in death. Together they raised four children, Susan (David) Bloss, Janice (Gary) Tourre, Christine (Gaylord) Stanton, and Nellis "Chip" VanKrevelen II. Lois began her career as the only teacher in a one room school house, then attended Hackley School of Nursing where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Lois and Nellis owned several professional pharmacies in Muskegon, the last of which was The Prescription Shop on Peck Street. From there, Lois and Nellis served at the Michigan Regional Center. As a clinical pharmacist - Registered Nurse team, they worked together to improve the lives of the developmentally disabled. Lois was a member of Central United Methodist Church for 60 years. She was the Sunday School Director for many years and often the liturgist for church services. Lois was an avid bridge player, developing wonderful friendships as a result in both Muskegon and Grand Rapids. Another favorite activity was golf. For 50 years Lois and Nellis were members of the Muskegon Country Club. One of Lois' greatest delights were her grand-children and great grand-children who will remember her forever as Nana. But she isn't just Nana to them. Lois was, and is, Nana to all of her brothers' and sister's children and grand-children. Even beyond, Nana is loved by the friends of their families. Together we celebrate the life of Lois Marie VanKrevelen with those she cherished and who cherish her.
